Meet Laurelwood's New Bonim Director!
¡Hola! I am so excited to explore Costa Rica with you all as the new Bonim Director! I’ve heard so many great things about the trip, and can’t wait to share this experience together. I thought you might like to know a little about me.
My name is Cristina Garbalosa, and I am a Spanish teacher at Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford. I have been teaching for five years. I am also pursuing my degree in Educational Leadership in order to become an administrator. Previous to teaching, I was a lifeguard during the summer for nine years.
I studied Spanish at the University of Delaware where I spent a semester abroad in Spain, Panama and Germany. After graduation, I taught English in Spain for a year. I received my Masters of Arts in Teaching from Quinnipiac University. Throughout my time abroad, I was able to travel to many different countries, and experience different cultures and traditions.
In my free time, I enjoy knitting and crocheting. I like to go hiking regularly with my friends, and I’m looking forward to some new views on this trip. My greatest passion, however, is playing frisbee, snuggling, and having fun with my Border Collie named Clover.
It is very important to me to keep communication open between us, and I look forward to speaking with you before the trip. I will be setting up a meeting in order to get to know you all, but please feel free to reach out to me with any questions you might have via email in the meantime. My email is bonim@camplaurelwood.org.
